Frequently Asked Questions About Pet Boarding From Winter Garden Animal Hospital
We offer pet boarding as a service here at Winter Garden Animal Hospital, serving the communities of Winter Garden, Apopka, Ocoee, and Monteverde. If you’re considering leaving your pet with us next time you travel, get answers to commonly asked questions here.
What Pets Are Accepted for Boarding?
We offer dog and cat boarding at our vet clinic. Dogs and cats are kept separately, and each is cared for by our staff.
What is Included With Boarding?
When you board your pet here, they’ll receive excellent care. Dogs have access to indoor, air-conditioned runs as well as an outdoor play area. Our vet-trained handlers walk them several times a day, and extra playtime comes at no additional cost to you. Cats and dogs get plenty of social time with fun, interactive treats and toys with our staff, although we are happy to give shy pets their alone time.
What are the Benefits of Boarding at Our Veterinary Clinic?
The main benefit of boarding your pet with us is access to our veterinarian around the clock. If you have a senior pet in need of daily medication, or a pet who is recovering from an injury, the benefit of this cannot be overstated. You won’t have to worry that a pet sitter will forget a dose of needed medication; you can trust that we’ll take care of all your pet’s medical needs.
Our vet staff feed, walk, play with, and care for all boarded pets on a daily basis. This regular attention means that our staff will notice if your pet is acting unusual. Our veterinarian can then check things out and provide treatment for any pet health problems. As you can see, boarding with us can get your pet preventative care and ensure they remain in good health.
What Do I Need to Do Before Pet Boarding?
Since our boarding facilities fill up, you must reserve your pet’s appointment ahead of time. Dogs will need to be up to date on all required vaccinations. This includes the bordetella or kennel cough vaccination to be admitted to our boarding area, but of course, this is something that we can take care of. If your pet is on any medication or eats special food, please bring enough of these so your pet can stay current with diet and medication during their stay with us.
How Much Does Pet Boarding Cost?
Our pet boarding fees vary by the type of pet. Cats board with us for $21/night. Dogs 25 pounds or under board here for $26/night, while dogs 26 pounds and up stay with our vet for $32/night.
